Muralitharan to be felicitated

Sri Lanka's ace spinner Muthiah Muralitharan who took a haul of 16 wickets in the recent one off Test match against England at Lord's will be felicitated by the Colombo Kamban Kazahagam on Friday at the Ramakrishna Hall, Wellawatte.

This felicitation ceremony will be held under the patronage of D.Eassuwaran consul for the Republic of Mauritius in Sri Lanka. The chief guest for this occasion will be Arjuna Ranatunga captain of the Sri Lanka cricket team and the guest of honour will be Justice C.V.Vigneswaran.

The special guests will be the Minister of Live stock Development and Rural Industries S.Thondaman, Minister of Local Government and Provincial Council S.Alavi Mowlana and M.H.M.Ashraff Minister of Ports and Shipping, Rehabilitation and Reconstruction.

Tamil Union will honour their captain Muthiah Muralitharan, who so comprehensively destroyed England and, his club mates, who have won national recognition, at a felicitation dinner at the Saravanamuttu Stadium on Friday (September 25) at 7.30 p.m.

Upul Chandana, Niroshan Bandaratilake, Mario Villavarayen and Indika de Saram are the other Sri Lankan players who will be felicitated. Members interested in attending the special event should contact the club manager on 693006 on or before September 21.
