ICC's global development committee starts to take shape
The ICC's newly appointed East Asia-Pacific Development Officer, Mr Andrew Eade, is likely to tour countries in the region late next month. Mr Eade, 37, formerly from Auckland, will first spend time with ICC Development Officer, Mr. Ross Turner, being indoctrinated into the ways of the ICC before assuming his Melbourne-based role. Australian Cricket Board official, Mr. Gerard Clarke, said the tour of the East Asia-Pacific would be one of Mr Eade's first tasks, speaking to cricket officials and assessing the needs of cricket in the various countries. Mr. Clarke said the decision to base the Development Officer's role in Melbourne and not in Hong Kong, as was originally envisaged, was a logistical one. "This way he has full access to the ACB's resources." Meanwhile, the big news to come out of last week's ICC Development meeting in Dubai, is the likely placement of additional Development Officers in Hong Kong, Japan and West Africa amongst others in the next couple of years. |
