Tony Munro - 21 April 1999

ICC officials, including Development Officer, Mr. Ross Turner, will visit Germany on May 7, 8 and 9 to assess that country's bid for promotion from Affiliate to Associate status.

Meanwhile, the first of Germany's five regional competitions began last Sunday, when the South West Region commenced its league.

Six teams, Frankfurt Stars, Rodgau, Frankfurt CC, RCC Hanau, TV Schaafheim and the favourites, CCC Hassloch will contest the competition.

Five teams will contest the North Region competition, including Bremen, Gottingen, Kassel, Pak Alem and Alster, which starts on May 9.

Munich CC remain the favourites to take out the South Region competition (based around Munich) but could face a threat from the newly formed Bavarian C.C.

National champion, DSSC Berlin is the top contender for the East region, while Crefeld are tipped to take out the West region.
