Hooper Game For Match The Barbados Nation - 14 April 1999 Carl Hooper has shaken off the effects of his bout of influenza and returns to the West Indies team for the second Cable & Wireless One-Day International against Australia here today. The experienced Guyanese all-rounder had a high temperature as recently as Monday, but he was well enough to practise with the team yesterday morning. Hooper is one of three changes to the side that won Sunday's opening match by 44 runs in Kingstown. Ace fast bowler Curtly Ambrose replaces fellow veteran pacer Courtney Walsh in keeping with the planned tactic of allowing the two senior men periodic rest. In another move to expose as many of the 15-man squad ahead of next month's World Cup, Reon King has come in for Mervyn Dillon, completing the fast bowling attack that also includes Hendy Bryan. Australia have reduced their squad by one, omitting Andy Bichel. The tourists are expected to turn to key fast bowler Glenn McGrath, who was rested during the first match. The teams: West Indies (announced) - Brian Lara (captain), Sherwin Campbell, Shivnarine Chanderpaul, Carl Hooper, Jimmy Adams, Stuart Williams, Keith Arthurton, Phil Simmons, Hendy Bryan, Curtly Ambrose, Reon King. Australia (from) - Steve Waugh (captain), Mark Waugh, Adam Gilchrist, Ricky Ponting, Darren Lehmann, Damien Martyn, Michael Bevan, Tom Moody, Shane Lee, Brendon Julian, Shane Warne, Paul Reiffel, Damien Fleming, Glenn McGrath.
