Bangladesh embark on a dream Zahid Newaz in Dhaka - 14 April 1999 On the first day of Bengali new year, Bangladesh cricket team leave Dhaka Wednesday night on way to fulfilling a long-cherished dream of participating in the World Cup and to display their best possible performance. ``We don't like to give any big hope to the nation, but we'll try our best to play good cricket fighting till the last moment,'' said allrounder Aminul Islam Bulbul, the captain of the ICC Trophy champions in their maiden World Cup. The Bangladesh captain said the ICC third position holder Scotland, against whom all Bangladeshis dream of a win, is a very competitive side with the inclusion of four county cricketers. ``But we'll work hard to beat them in their soil.'' A day before of their departure for England, Bulbul also said: ``Our main aim is not only to beat Scotland, but also to perform well according to our ability in the remaining matches against more stronger rivals.'' Main highlight of the Bangladesh team is a last minute inclusion of allrounder Minhazul Abedin Nannu. Jahangir Alam, earlier named in the 15- member squad, has been dropped to make a room for Nannu. However, He will be accompanying the team as a stand-by player. Bangladesh team will be lodged at Jarvis International Hotel in Watford, Herts at own expense till May 2. They will be entitled to official accomodation from May 3. Prior to the World Cup, Bangladesh will play three official warm-up matches with English county teams - with Essex on May 8 at Chelmsford, Middlesex on May 10 at Uxbridge and Northamptonshire on May 12 at Northampton.
