The Barbados Nation Lara To Miss Today's Clash At Oval
The Barbados Nation - 24 April 1999

BRIAN LARA is expected to miss today's important sixth Cable & Wireless One-Day International against Australia at Kensington Oval at 9:35 a.m.

The West Indies captain is still not fully fit as his ``sore and painful'' right wrist is not fully healed.

Jimmy Adams, who filled the role admirably in Lara's absence in Guyana on Wednesday, is again at the helm.

West Indies, who have been plagued by either injury or illness to key players in every game so far, have another casualty in allrounder Phil Simmons, who has not recovered from an injury sustained on Wednesday.

Veteran pacers Curtly Ambrose and Courtney Walsh will also be missing.

Australia are expected to welcome back ace paceman Glenn McGrath, who has shrugged off the ankle injury he picked up last Saturday in Trinidad.
