The Barbados Nation Sir Viv Still In Form
The Barbados Nation - 14 April 1999

ST. GEORGE'S, Grenada - Sir Vivian Richards returned to his first love yesterday with his usual flair.

The Antiguan ``Master Blaster'' topscored with 47, but the West Indies Masters lost by 65 runs to the University of the West Indies Vice-Chancellor's XI in a match to celebrate today's One-Day International at the New Queen's Park Ground.

Richards put on 79 for the fourth-wicket with Barbadian Collis King (38), bringing back memories of their 1979 World Cup Final demolition of England.

The Masters were restricted to 176 for eight off 40 overs, with Carlisle Best taking four for 37, in reply to the Vice-Chancellor's XI score of 241 for four.

Daren Ganga hit 95, laced with 13 fours off 89 balls, Jamaican Delroy Taylor made 49 and Best 36.
