Sacking has spurred on Warne John McLeery - 14 April 1999 Australian coach Geoff Marsh believes Shane Warne will respond to his sacking from their Test side by playing a major role in the one-day international campaign. A key figure in Australia's plans for the World Cup next month, Warne bowled superbly to take two for 30 in Australia's 44-run loss to the West Indies in the first of their seven one-dayers on Sunday in St Vincent.. Marsh and Australian captain Steve Waugh did not drop Warne, their fellow tour selector, from last week's fourth Test side with the intention of prompting a pride-driven comeback. Marsh, however, can see it turning out that way. ``Warney bowled very well, he was like the Warney of old,'' he said. Australia and the West Indies meet in the second match in Grenada today and Marsh feels the best is yet to come as Warne continues to rediscover the form missing since shoulder surgery last year. ``He has pumped himself up,'' said Marsh. Australia's selectors, meanwhile, yesterday decided that Andy Bichel would join Adam Dale (pneumonia) on a flight home today. It is hoped Dale will recover in time for the World Cup but Bichel is not in the party. Kevan James, the Hampshire all-rounder, will be out of action for the first month of the season after damaging a shoulder in pre-season training.
