Six students from Dambulla for cricket practice

Six students from Dambulla have been selected for practice by the interim committee for cricket. Mr. Janaka Bandara Tennakoon the Deputy Minister of Labour said.

He was speaking at a public meeting held at Dambulla to commemorate the 5th year by the PA Government.

He said this was the first time in the history of the Matale district where rural boys got an opportunity to enter into the areas of international cricket.

He further said the Dambulla new economic centre has become the hub of economic affairs of the country. Even agricultural produce of Jaffna goes through this market. He also said a new bus-stand and a market complex are under construction.

The Deputy Minister said the Dambulla Madhya Maha Vidyalaya will be raised to a standard of a national school. The Dambulla district hospital will get all the facilities available at the Matale base hospital and the main PO will be shifted to the town eventually.
