India Domestic: Match intriguingly poised 2 December 1999
Uttar Pradesh took on Bihar at the Keenan Stadium in Jamshedpur today for a place in the quarter final of the Under 19 level Cooch Behar Trophy. The match was evenly poised at close of play with UP reducing Bihar to 70-5 after having been bowled out for 163. UP won the toss and quickly slumped to 12-3 and then 32-4. A Pandey and A Tewari spared UP's blushes with a 5th wicket stand of 92 but from 124-4 UP again collapsed to 163 all out. Pandey was undefeated on 95 and he and Tewari (31) were the only two to reach double figures. Aman Verma and Ashu Sharma triggered a Bihar counterslump as they slipped from 57-1 to 58-5 in 5.2 overs. At stumps A Hashmi on nought and T Pratap on 11 were at the crease.
