India beat Pakistan in inconsequential match 4 December 1999
India A-1 defeated Pakistan A by 48 runs in an inconsequential match in the inaugural Abu Dhabi Cup tournament on Thursday night. Sri Lanka, the third team in the fray, had already made sure of taking the title. Batting first, India A-1 recovered from a bad start (49 for three) to score 217 for 8 in 50 overs with Abbas Ali top scoring with 49 and Sanjay Bangar contributing 47. In reply, the Pakistan side were restricted to 169 for nine. Yasser Hameed top scored with 49 while Shahid Afridi made 39. For the Indian team, Sachin Nair took three for 50 and Gyanendra Pandey two for 20. © CricInfo
