Dawn Inzamam and Shoaib to report for camp
16 December 1999

Lahore, Dec 15: Inzamam-ul-Haq and Shoaib Akhtar were the only absentees from the Pakistan cricket camp which began here at the Gaddafi Stadium on Wednesday.

The 12 players assembled at the venue at 1 p.m and had their work-out for about three hours. Pakistan captain Wasim Akram told 'Dawn' "we want to train in top gear straight away because the limited-over triangular series among the teams of Australia, India and Pakistan will be very tough."

About the absence of paceman Shoaib Akhtar and middle-order batsman Inzimam-ul-Haq from the camp, the captain said: "Shoaib Akhtar is in England these days and Inzamam-ul-Haq will be joining the camp soon!"

The training started with warming-up and physical exercises. The members of the team and reserves had fielding, batting and bowling practice.

The following 12 cricketers joined the camp. Wasim Akram (captain), Moin Khan, Ejaz Ahmad, Saeed Anwar, Shahid Afridi, Saqlain Mushtaq, Shoaib Malik, Wajahtullah Wasti, Muhammad Wasim, Azhar Mahmood, Abdul Razzaq, and Yousuf Youhanna.
