Karachi, Dec 23: Dashing knocks by Nomanullah and Mohammad Javed helped Mian Azmat Professionals register a 33-run victory over Pak Gymkhana in the A.O. Super Cup Cricket Tournament played at the Asghar Ali Shah Stadium on Thursday.

Nomanullah with an attractive knock of 82 runs and Mohammad Javed's unbeaten innings of 54, helped MAP reach 183 for 4 in their 20 stipulated overs.

Chasing 184 runs for victory, Pak Gymkhana could only manage 150 runs for the loss of nine wickets when their 20 overs ended. Saeed Azad (27) Kashif Ahmed (21), and Ashfaq Ahmed (20), were the only batsmen to put up some resistance against the bowling of Nomanullah 2/22, Fareeduddin and Nisar Abbas with 2/31 apiece. On Wednesday, Asghar Ali Shah Cricket Club had a handsome eight-wicket triumph against Nazimabad Gymkhana.

Nazimabad Gymkhana winning the toss and electing to bat scored 156 for 6 in their 20 overs through Tariq Ali (68), Azad Qureshi (27) and Nazim Wahab (20). Inam Ahmed 2/21 and Khalid Butt 2/52 bowled well.

With a swashbuckling knock of 72 not out by Inam Ahmed and a whirlwind 52 by Shujat Ali, Asghar Ali Shah CC reached the winning target after losing only two wickets.

In a third fixture also played on Wednesday, Airport Gymkhana cruised into the next round beating Afroze Whites by nine wickets. Afroze Gymkhana making first use of the wicket were bundled out for only 85 runs. Mujeeb was the main scorer with 29 runs. Asifuddin bagged 3/19 and Adnan 2/21.

With Ghulam Ali unbeaten with 52 runs and Ather Laeeq contributing 28, Airport Gymkhana passed their opponents total after losing only one wicket.
