Pakistan Local: Nadeem Moosa's fine show in CDC's win 25 December 1999
Karachi, Dec 24: Veteran cricketer Nadeem Moosa produced a brilliant all-round performance as CDC thrashed Karachi Gymkhana Whites by 88 runs in the 14th Karachi Gymkhana Ramazan Festival at the Karachi Gymkhana on Friday. The left-hander struck a quick fire unconquered 88 to propel CDC to an imposing 220 for five in 20 overs. He then captured six for 13 in 4.2 overs to spin out the home team for 132 in 17.2 overs. Nadeem's innings was studded with 10 boundaries and two sixes. He featured in an unbroken 128-run sixth wicket stand with Ashraf Pakhali after CDC were reduced to 92 for five. Ashraf contributed an unbeaten 36 that included three fours and a six. Opener Mohammad Ali was the other notable scorer with a rapid 45 that included four fours and two sixes. Irfan Ahmad chipped in with 34. For Karachi Gymkhana, Tayyab Yousuf snapped up two wickets for 35 runs. Karachi Gymkhana were never in hunt for the winning score and crashed out for 132. Nadeem mesmerized the hosts with his craft and intelligent bowling to earn best figures of the tournament. Fawad Ijaz lent Nadeem good support by bagging three wickets for 16 runs. For Karachi Gymkhana, openers Khurram Sheikh scored 47 and Jam Nafees contributed 35. The two put on 89 runs for the first wicket. Saturday's Fixture: Landhi Friends vs Airport Gymkhana. © Dawn
