Danish coach Mortensen cautious about tour to Zimbabwe
Tony Munro - 6 March 1999

Danish national coach, Ole Mortensen, sees the strength of the opposition and adjusting to turf wickets as his main concerns for Denmark's tour of Zimbabwe which starts in Harare next week.

"We will meet strong teams packed with Test players, but we will adjust," Mortensen said. He added that his team's exposure in the past few years to turf wickets in South Africa, Namibia, Scotland and England would assist his team. Mortensen also said playing in their off-season would be another hurdle for his players.

He gave special mention to Thomas Hansen, Amjad Khan, Peter Thomsen and Carsten Pedersen as players who will shine on the tour.

Denmark plays its first match against Mashonaland at Harare on March 12. The tour is part of Denmark's build-up for its May 4 NatWest Trophy debut versus Kent. The preparation will be rounded off with a match against the MCC at Shenley on May 1.
