BCCSL Elections: Arjuna, Aravinda seek vice Presidency posts Sa'adi Thawfeeq - 6 March 1999 Thilanga, Clifford Presidency clash Sri Lanka captain Arjuna Ranatunga and vice captain Aravinda de Silva will contest the 51st annual general meeting of the Board of Control for Cricket in Sri Lanka (BCCSL) for the posts of vice presidents. Their names were among seven nominees received for the two posts of vice president when nominations closed at 12 noon yesterday. The BCCSL annual general meeting is scheduled for March 28 at the Cricket Board headquarters. Other prominent names contesting the vice-presidency post are Western Province PA candidate Prasanna Ranatunga, younger brother of Arjuna Ranatunga and, Board of Investments (BOI) chairman Tilan Wijesinghe, a former Tamil Union and Sri Lanka 'A' team cricket captain. The Cricket Board presidency will be contested between incumbent president Thilanga Sumathipala and Clifford Ratwatte, president of the Nationalised Services Cricket Association and chairman of the Sri Lanka Tea Board.
