The Jamaica Gleaner - 30 March 1999

The Headley Cup, symbol of rural supremacy in schoolboy cricket, enters its semi-final round today with defending champions Holmwood Technical opposing York Castle High at Alpart in one of two matches.

Many-time champions St. Elizabeth Technical (STETHS) will face Vere Technical at Manchester High in another game. Both matches begin at 10:30 a.m.

The Robert Lewis-coached Holmwood Technical will look to key players Jamaica Under-19 leg-spinner and captain Kevin Peart along with top batsman Roger Solladon, pacer Evon McInnis and former Jamaica Under-15 left-arm spinner Andre Dwyer to carve out a victory. York Castle, coached by Cleon Smith, will seek victory through allrounder Rashard Marshall, Derwin Hillock, and Glenmore Hall.
