CALCUTTA, Feb 17: Indian wicket-keeper Nayan Mongia finds himself in deep trouble after he was reported to have violated the International Cricket Council (ICC) code of conduct.

The two umpires Steve Bucknor and Dave Orchard had a long meeting with match referee Cammie Smith after the second day's play and according to sources Mongia was the top of dicussion.

Cammie Smith refused to make any comments but admitted that he would be reporting the incident to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). He later informed the ICC of the incident late on Wednesday evening.

``If I have to make any statements, I will issue them through the BCCI. But I think I will be coming up with a statement on Thursday morning,'' was Smith's official reaction.

Although Orchard was not available to narrate exactly what happened, the incident occured shortly before close when Nayan Mongia viciously appealed for a caught behind against Saeed Anwar off Venkatesh Prasad. Television pictures showed Orchard telling Mongia to go back and continue.

Smith, in the previous two Tests, had warned rival wicket-keepers of excessive appeals. Shahid Afridi was issued a stern warning at New Delhi when he stood his ground after being adjudged caught behind by local umpire A V Jayaprakash.
