Seven changes in Pakistan U-19 team Our Sports Reporter - 26 February 1999 LAHORE, Feb 25: A 14-member Pakistan under-19 team was announced on Thursday for the third and last one-dayer against the touring South Africa under-19 side at the National Stadium, Karachi, on Feb 27 (Saturday). Seven players out of the playing eleven, who helped Pakistan juniors take an unbeatable 2-0 lead in the three-match series against the visitors, have been retained among the 14 picked on Thursday by the national junior selection committee. All of them have given fine performance during the one-day internationals. Some of them like Imran Nazir, captain Hasan Raza, Yasir Arafat and Shoaib Malik also excelled in the unofficial Test series which Pakistan won 1-0. They are: Hasan Raza (captain from Karachi),Imran Nazir Senior (LDCA), Faisal Iqbal (Karachi), Shoaib Malik (Gujranwala), Qaisar Abbas (Multan), Yasir Arafat (Rawalpindi),Irfan Fazil (Lahore). A Pakistan Cricket Board spokesman said that the playing eleven for the match at Karachi will be finalised on the morning of Saturday. The other seven players picked are: Irshad Ali (Hyderabad), Rashid Ali (Karachi), Ahmad Zeeshan (Karachi), Faisal Irfan (Quetta), Farhan Rashid (Lahore), Yasir Bashir (Sheikhupura) and Mohtashim Rashid (Quetta). With the one-day international series having been already secured by the Pakistan under-19 side, the selectors gave opportunities to other youngsters as well.
