Sri Lanka: Ishara bowls Colts to victory over Antonians

Right-arm fast medium bowler Ishara Amarasinghe took a match bag of nine wickets for 83 to steer Colts CC to a convincing innings and 17-run win over Antonians SC in their Premier League Cricket tournament match concluded at Havelock Park yesterday.

Trailing by 98 runs on the first innings, the Wattala team were shot out for 81 in the second innings with Amarasinghe following his four wickets in the first innings with another penetrative spell to capture 5 wickets for 30.

Scores:

Antonians SC: 216 and 81 (P. Siriwardena 21, Eric Upashantha 3 for 40, Ishara Amarasinghe 5 for 30, T. Smaratunga 2 for 10)

Colts CC: 314 all out.

A fine double of 43 and 51 n.o. by Duminda Perera highlighted BRC's Premier League tournament match against Singha SC concluded at Havelock Park yesterday which ended in a first innings victory for Singha SC.

Chasing a victory target of 245 to win in 64 overs, BRC made 135 for 5 when rain stopped play after 36 overs with Duminda Perera unbeaten on 51.

Scores:

Singha SC: 274 and 131 (Saman Jayantha 21, Thushara Sampath 24, R. Farook 3 for 42, Sanjaya Rajapakse 5 for 28).

BRC: 150 (Duminda Perera 43, N. Pushpakumara 34, Suraj Sanjeeva 4 for 20, N. Pushpakumara 3 for 51) and 135 for 5 at stumps (Duminda Perera 51 n.o., Sean Mackay 31, Indika Batuwitarachchi 29, N. Pushpakumara 2 for 30). (D.W.)

CCC, set to make 242 to win, were 47 for one at stumps on the final day of their Premier League cricket match against Sebastianites concluded at Maitland Crescent yesterday with the Sebastianites registering a first innings win.

Scores:

Sebastianites: 265 and 175 (S. Silva 75, I. Gallage 3 for 43, Hemantha Boteju 2 for 27, T. Sanjaya 3 for 33).

NCC beat Police SC by an innings and 84 runs in their Premier League tournament match ended at Maitland Place yesterday. Police trailing by 308 runs on the first innings were bowled out for 224 in the second innings with paceman Sajeewa de Silva (4 for 47) and off spinner Ruwan Kalpage (3 for 65) doing the damage.
