KENYA v ZIMBABWE
Wisden CricInfo staff - January 1, 1999

At Aga Khan Sports Club, Nairobi, October 16. Zimbabwe won by seven wickets. Toss: Zimbabwe.

Both teams had already qualified and Kenya's top order showed little sign of caring about the outcome; only Otieno reached double figures. When Tony Suji joined Odoyo at 68 for six, a three-figure total seemed improbable. But Kenya, who had established a one-day international record for the first wicket six days earlier, now repeated the feat for the seventh wicket. Odoyo and Suji added 119. The previous record, 115, was jointly held by Jeff Dujon and Malcolm Marshall of West Indies, and Adam Parore and Lee Germon of New Zealand. A total of 207 ensured respectability, though not victory: Grant and Andy Flower gave Zimbabwe another century stand in reply, and Zimbabwe coasted in.

Man of the Match: A. Flower.
