PAKISTAN v SRI LANKA

Needing another win to advance to the final, Pakistan were torn apart by sizzling centuries from Jayasuriya and Aravinda de Silva which made a target of 281 look puny. They added 213, a Sri Lankan one-day record for the third wicket, and charged to victory by scoring at seven runs an over. Jayasuriya reached his hundred in 86 balls, De Silva in 87; all told, Jayasuriya hit 13 fours and three sixes and De Silva 12 fours. Pakistan's total of 280 was set up a third-wicket stand of 122 between Aamir Sohail and Ijaz Ahmed.
