At Dhaka, January 16 (day/night). Pakistan won by six wickets. Toss: India. Pakistan pulled level in the only match of the tournament unaffected by fog. Azhar Mahmood gave them the ideal start by bowling Tendulkar in the second over, and only Azharuddin reached 50. Most of the damage was done by slow left-armer Mohammad Hussain, who took four wickets, and off-spinner Saqlain Mushtaq, who took his 150th wicket in only his 78th one-day international, a record for any bowler. Pakistan passed their target of 190 in 32 overs – they needed only 13 to reach three figures, as Saeed Anwar raced to 51 in 40 balls. Man of the Match: Mohammad Hussain. © Wisden CricInfo Ltd |
