Azharuddin charted a course through choppy waters, while Jadeja and Robin Singh, who hit 32 off 29 balls, provided late momentum. As Shahid Afridi smashed six fours in 44 off 38 balls, a Pakistan victory seemed assured. But complacency led to reckless strokes – all ten wickets fell to catches – and they were undone by Ganguly, who claimed five for 16.
