Bangladesh League Round-up

Imported collections, mainly Pakistani batsmen, are dominating Bangladesh Premier Division Cricket League. But in bowling, the supremacy is so far by the local players.

The league is now suspended for biggest festival of Moslems and resumes on January 26. So far, 46 matches have been played. The rest 20 matches are expected to be completed before the national players begin their training under coach Gordon Greenidge for World Cup Cricket.

Analysis showed, of the 10 top scoring batsmen in the first 46 matches, four are Pakistanis while one each from India and Kenya. Indian Rajinder Singh is the top scorer with 504 runs.

Among the local batsmen, Minhajul Abedin Nannu is the top scorer with 385 runs followed by Bangladesh national team captain Aminul Islam Bulbul with 382 runs.

In bowling, seven of the top 10 wicket hunters are local players. Mohammad Rafique and Aminul Islam Bulbul have captured the first and second positions with 21 wickets each.

Pakistani Manjur Akhtar has proved himself as the best allrounder. So far, he scored 335 runs and took 15 wickets in the league matches.

The point table showed Brothers' Union is leading the league with 12 points playing seven matches where they won six and lost one.
