Jamaica: Kingston College on the verge of victory

Kingston College were poised for victory over Jamaica College in their opening Group C Sunlight Cup encounter when bad light ended play prematurely at Hope Road yesterday.

Scores: KC 168 for seven declared after 51 overs (Lincoln Granston 38, Sean Cousley 29, Andrew Dennis 23 not out, Marlon Samuels 20 and Ricardo Green unbeaten on 17. Garnett Murray 3-57). JC 34-7 (Andrew Richardson 3-7, Marlon Samuels 2-2 and Leonard Walker 2-9).

Meanwhile, pacer Howard Walters claimed four wickets and captain Tamar Lambert bagged three as Jonathan Grant romped to a nine-wicket victory over Ardenne High in their opening Sunlight Cup game at Ardenne on Tuesday.

Scores: Ardenne 62 from 31.5 overs (Tarrick Coley 17, Sheldon Morris 17 not out; Howard Walters 4-10, Tamar Lambert 3-7); Jonathan Grant 65-1 from 6.3 overs (Gerald Morgan 39 not out, Lambert 11 not out).

At Excelsior High, captain Ramon Hutchinson's all-round performance piloted St. George's College to an easy six-wicket victory over Excelsior.
