Jamaica: St James CA names squad

WESTERN BUREAU - The St. James Cricket Association has named a 24-man squad to begin preparations for the Cornwall Cup competition that gets underway next month.

Veteran opening batsman Tedroy Bromfield has been named captain of the team that will be coached by Grantley Miller and managed by Sylvanus Thompson.

The team includes two new invitees and three junior players, one of whom, Damion Grey, represented Jamaica at the Under-15 level last year. The other two junior players are Nick McFarlane and all-rounder Owen Burke. The newcomers are left-arm pace bowler Mark Dewar who represented Westmoreland last year and Omar East.

The other members of the squad are:

Dwayne Dixon, Asonu Spencer, Gary Campbell, Bereston Reid, Samuel Evans, Dennis Thompson, Verone Graham, Onique Fearon, Paul Murray, Delroy Barrett, Damion Kerr, Ryan Wong, Darren Lee, Kenroy Virgo, Andrew Collin, Lawrence Doeman, Malden Miller and Michael Erskine.

Training begins today at Jarrett Park.
