Craig Cumming will captain the Canterbury Emerging Players cricket team against a New Zealand Youth XI in a two-day match at Lincoln Green, starting today. Canterbury first XI coach Garry MacDonald said there were still a number of positions in the Shell Trophy team ``up for grabs'' and the match would be an opportunity to stake a claim for selection.

The team is: Cumming, Carl Anderson, Hamish Barton, Ryan Burson, Craig Cornelius, Wade Cornelius, Robbie Frew, Mark Hastings, Glynn Howell, Jeremy Innes, Marcel McKenzie, Darren Walker.
