Wet weather forces draw

Wet weather conditions forced the inter-school cricket match between Sri Rahula College, Katugastota and Ananda Sastralaya Vidyalaya to end in a draw at University grounds, Peradeniya yesterday.

For Sri Rahula medium pacer S. Bandara bowled well to capture 4 for 66.

Ananda Sastralaya Vidyalaya 196 for 9 with in 90 overs (M.P. Perera 14, S. Kumarapperuma 36, W. Warnapura 21 not out, G. Kumarapeli 25, I. Samsudeen 21, S.M. Dharshana 21, S. Bandara 4 for 66, M. Kumara 2 for 15, I. Ranaweera 1 for 42, J.B. Ekanayake 1 for 19, C. Telwadana 1 for 3).

Sri Rahula College did not bat.

St. Sebastian's Himal Perera took five wickets for 29 runs to restrict De Mazenod to 148 runs in their first innings of their inter-school cricket match played at Moratuwa yesterday.

Scores:

De Mazenod 148 all out (Gayan Maduranga 53, Shammika Fernando 35, Shiyan Danthanarayana 15, Himal Perera 5/29, Malshan Fernando 2/09).

St. Sebastian's 139/5 at close (Suranga de Silva 43, Malshan Fernando 33, Nuwan Fernando 30 n.o., Primesh Perera 15)
