Nalanda, who were dismissed for a paltry first innings score of 117 as against S. Thomas' total of 234 for 7 declared, on following on were 1 for no loss, when rain put an end to any further play after lunch in their inter-school' cricket encounter at Mt. Lavinia yesterday.

Nalanda continuing from their overnight score of 45 for 2 in reply to S. Thomas' total of 234 for 7 declared, were all out cheaply a few minutes after lunch for 117 made off 44.2 overs and 285 minutes.

This was mainly brought about by the, on-the-spot wily bowling of left arm spinner. Suranga Peiris who finished up with the fine figures of 5 for 18. Being led by 117 runs, Nalanda following on were 1 for no loss when the rains came down with play being abandoned.
