Zimbabwe youngsters attend Dennis Lillee camp - MRF Pace Foundation

Zimbabwe Cricket Union
22 January, 1999

We are pleased to announce that the MRF Pace Foundation in Chennai, India has once again offered to support two of our young fast bowlers from Zimbabwe for their fast bowlers' coaching camp from 20 to 30 January 1999.

Our Union has selected two young fast bowlers who we believe will benefit from attending such a course, these are BRIGHTON WATAMBWA and ANDY BLIGNAUT.

This foundation has been used by us for several years and the following players have attended: Mpumelelo Mbangwa, Henry Olonga, Bryan Strang, Gary Brent, David Mutendera, Bernard Pswarayi and Nyasha Chari.

It is the Union's policy to utilise various academies and foundations in India, Australia and South Africa to help develop our young cricketers. Three of the above players have attended the Plascon Academy is South Africa whilst Henry Olonga also visited the Commonwealth Bank Cricket Academy in Australia as did Dirk Viljoen and Mluleki Nkala.
