The Electronic Telegraph County Championship round-up: McGrath on track
The Electronic Telegraph - 13 July 1999

Glenn Mcgrath has been cleared to play for Worcestershire next year by the Australian Cricket Board, who had earlier expressed concerns about contracted players taking on an increased workload.

Chairman Denis Rogers said the Test bowler had earned the right to sign a county contract. ``We think he's made too big a contribution to Australian cricket to just be bloody-minded about it,'' said Rogers.

ACB chief executive Malcolm Speed will now discuss details of McGrath's overseas stint with the player and his management.
