Pakistan: Veteran cricket The Dawn - 20 July 1999 Karachi, July 19: Three more matches were decided in the Veterans Summer Cricket League here at the weekend. On Sunday, Mian Azmat Veterans defeated Pak Gymkhana Veterans by six wickets at the NBP Sports Complex. Hush Puppies and CDC won their respective matches on Saturday. In the first match Hush Puppies Veterans overcame a difficult pitch at the NBP Sports Complex to defeat Ideal Veterans by a narrow margin of three wickets. In the other encounter, played at Karachi Gymkhana, CDC Veterans defeated a spirited Karachi Gymkhana Veterans by 19 runs. Summarised scores: Pak Gymkhana Veterans 120 for nine in 30 overs (Jamshed 43, Freddie 24; Fariduddin 3-18, Jalil Khan 2-23, Moinuddin 2-29); Mian Azmat Veterans 122 for four in 26 overs (Visal Ansari 58 not out, Fariduddin 36; Azam Khan 2-19). Ideal Veterans 102 in 25.5 overs (Rashid Israr 24; Shahid Manzoor 3-17, Shakir Shaikh 2-14); Hush Puppies Veterans 105 for seven in 26.3 overs (Javed Dada 22; Ijaz Faqih 3-15, Fawwad Ijaz 2-25). CDC Veterans 184 for five in 25 overs (Khawaja Kalim 84, Nadeem Omar 23; Altaf Agha 3-34); Karachi Gymkhana Veterans 165 for six in 25 overs (Aslam Jindani 68, Tayyab Yousuf 34; Irfan Kazmi 2-24, Akram Khan 2-36).
