Shane Warne has shelved plans to retire, telling the Australian Cricket Board Friday he is available for international selection.

That means he will head for Sri Lanka next month and Zimbabwe in October if the selectors continue with their policy of fielding two leg-spinners. Australia dropped that plan for the final Test against the West Indies in April when only Stuart MacGill played.

Warne said last month he was considering quitting the game after he recovered from his axeing from the Test team to spearhead Australia's victory in the World Cup final.

However, Warne, on the advice of those closest to him, has decided against a premature end to an already remarkable career.

Warne said: ``In the end, I'm sure I would have missed the game too much if I had retired. I'm only 29 and I think I have plenty to give cricket as a senior player.''

Durham batsman Michael Gough will captain England Under-19s for the one-day international series against Australia.
