Jamaica: Sandals win for Trelawny The Jamaica Gleaner - 24 June 1999 Trelawny, Clarendon and Westmoreland registered victories in the Sandals Limited Overs cricket competition at the weekend. AT ELGIN TOWN: Trelawny defeated Hanover by three wickets in their Group A game which was reduced to 25 overs per side because of rain. Scores: Hanover 186 - Owen Johnson 69, Charles Malcolm 28; Warren Dobson 3-16, Nyron Wilson 2-29, Earl Suckoo 2- 33); Trelawny 187-7 Wilson 41, Carlton Johnson 37, John Lewis 31, Suckoo 23; Steve Coates 2-24, Oneil Lewis 2-37. AT MONYMUSK: Clarendon defeated St. James by 11 runs in a Group B match which was also interrupted by rain. Scores: Clarendon 152-7 from 41 overs - Orlando Baker 43, Alex Ranger 34; Paul Murray 3-36); Set a revised target of 156 from 35 overs St. James were bowled out for 145 - Asuna Spencer 30; Hamlet Stewart 5-38. AT ALLAN RAE OVAL: Paul Palmer scored 61 to steer Westmoreland to a two-wicket victory over Manchester. Scores: Manchester 164; Westmoreland 165 for eight. There was no play possible in the Portland versus Kingston match because of rain.
