Shropshire miss record Mike Berry - 25 June 1999 Partnership landmarks have been a major feature of the championship. Oxfordshire's bowlers were on the receiving end when Shropshire openers Bryan Jones (168no) and Mark Davies (121no) shared an unbroken stand of 303 off 66 overs at Shipton-under-Wychwood. A new Shropshire record was only 21 runs short of becoming the biggest opening partnership in championship history. In the same game Rob Williams and Charlie Knightley put on 140 for the fifth wicket as Oxfordshire batted out time in their second innings. Oxfordshire turn their attention to the ECB 38-County Cup on Sunday, and qualify for the quarter-finals if they defeat the Leicestershire Board in their final zonal game at Stoughton and Thurnby. Already through are Devon, Cumberland and the Yorkshire Board.
