Salim Malik to join Pakistan team Our Sports Correspondent - 29 March 1999 LAHORE, March 28: Test cricketer Salim Malik has been recalled to join the Pakistan team for the one-day match in the tri-nation series against India at Mohali on April 1. Malik is likely to depart here for India on March 30. Dropped from the squad announced for the tri-nation series, Malik has been recalled on the request of captain Wasim Akram. Talking to Dawn on Sunday, a reliable source said that Salim Malik was being sent to India as enforcement and not a replacement. Hence no one will be returning home. However, he said that it was upto the tour management to spare any player if it deemed fit.
