Trinidad: Preysal make a good start Forbes Persaud - 11 March 1999 Defending champions Clico Preysal made a good start to their game against Ramsingh's Couva Sports as the 1999 edition of the Mt d'or limited overs cricket competition bowled off yesterday. At Inshan Ali Park, the champs took first strike and amassed 158 for six in their allotted 30 overs thanks to good contributions from Sheriff Mohammed (41), Shazam Babwah (33) and Armanath Basdeo (21). At Gilbert Park, seasoned campaigners Caroni Wanderers were paced by a fine half-century from former national player Deonarine Deyal 51 and piled up 186 for seven against New Yorke Parrot Cosmos. Deyal received good support from Rajindra Mangalie (41) and wicketkeeper/batsman Ashook Bally (32) while Narine Bideshie chipped in with 27. All matches end today.
