More rain in Anguilla dampens Canada's hopes CCA - 3 November 1999
When it rains, it pours. There is a school days hurricane ditty that states: June too soon July .................., August come it must, September remember, October all over. This was not the case in 1999. Hurricane Jose's pre and post wake created havoc with the Leewards zone B Red Stripe Tournament. For the second consecutive day, Canada was unable to face or bowl one ball in a game - this time against the Leeward Islands. Rain fell from about 05:30 h but later stopped. Upon removing the covers, it was clear that some water had affected the pitch and play was not possible. Canada returns with some players not being able to bat or to bowl in the event. An even more tragic occurrence is the inability of the youngsters selected for the experience against better competition to maximize on this training exercise. © CCA
