Dawn Quaid-i-Azam Trophy: National Bank of Pakistan 105/3 on first day

Hyderabad, Nov 6: National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) lost three wickets for 105 on the first day o f the match against Hyderabad in Quaid-i-Azam Trophy Grade-I national cricket championship here on Saturday.

Shahid Anwar and Tariq Muhammad failed to give a flying start to their side and NBP lost three wickets at 85. Sajid Ali, however, batted reponsibility and scored 42 with 4 boundaries off 58 balls.

Naeem Tayyab and Akhtar Sarfaraz were playing at 7 each when the stumps were drawn.

Sohaib Hashmi, Tariq Aziz and Haider Raza secured one wicket each.

Earlier, the match started at around tea due to non playing condition in the stadium as a result of light drizzle in the city on Friday evening.

The track was not even covered by the stadium's staff and the HMC's sports officer, Hafeezur Rehman was not present when the match referee, Tauseef Ahmed and NBP's players themselves covered the pitch.

Mr Rehman refused to come to the stadium when he was called don phone by sub-committee member, Javed Nisar Channa.

The outfield was in a shabby condition on Saturday. The play continued for only two hours on the first day.
