Billy Selling signs two-year contract with Leicestershire
Leicestershire CCC Press Release - 10 November 1999

Following a recent change in ECB Registration Regulations Leicestershire County Cricket Club have signed 30-year old all-rounder Billy Stelling on a two-year contract.

Stelling, who holds a dutch passport, was born in Johannesburg. He has represented Western Province and Boland in 18 First Class matches and 31 Limited Overs matches. He played for Holland in the NatWest Trophy in 1995, and for Berkshire in 1999 capturing the figures of 10-2-32-7 versus the Bangladesh World Cup Squad in a World Cup warm-up match.

For Leicestershire Second XI in 1999 he scored 412 runs at an average of 68.7 including a highest score of 130 versus Yorkshire at Grace Road.

Leicestershire Cricket Manager Jack Birkenshaw, commented: "Billy is a quality all-rounder who brings first-class experience to our Squad. His performance against Bangladesh demonstrates that he is a very useful seam bowler, and also a dangerous middle order batsman.

He has also played in a series of Championship-winning teams both in South Africa and in England which demonstrates his competitive qualities. We believe we have found a quality player who will strengthen both our One-Day and Championship Squads.

Leicestershire County Cricket Club have also announced the Chief Executive, David Collier, who has been at the club for three seasons, will succeed Mark Arthur as Chief Executive of Nottinghamshire County Cricket Club in the Spring of 2000.
