India A draw with Guyana 28 November 1999
Not unexpectedly, the three day match between India A and Guyana ended in a tame draw at Georgetown on Saturday. But Guyana's Azeemul Haniff and India A's J Arun Kumar helped themselves to hundreds on the final day of the game. Resuming at 197 for four, India A declared at 324 for nine. Opener Arun Kumar was the first player on the visiting side to get a hundred on the month long tour. He got it in style by hitting a six off leg spinner Mahendra Nagamootoo. But Nagamootoo had the final say by dismisisng Arun Kumar for 110. Arun Kumar batted almost six hours, faced 273 balls and hit 14 fours and a six. Guyana, who had made 222 in the first innings, hit 193 for one in their second innings when stumps were finally drawn. Azeemul Haniff, who had scored 62 in the first innings, scored an unbeaten 102.
