Dawn Lodhi and Adnan hit centuries in WAPDA's massive score

Lahore, Oct 17: Splendid centuries by Tariq Aziz Lodhi (194) and Hasan Adnan (130) and their third wicket stand of 288 runs, steered WAPDA to score formidable total of 482 for six declared in first innings against Bahawalpur at the Dring Stadium, Bahawalpur, according to a message received here on Sunday.

By close of play, Bahawalpur in their first innings were 58 for one in 15 overs. Shahnawaz Adeel (3) has lost wicket while Raja Arshad (34) and Rehan Rafique (16) will begin the Bahawalpur innings on Monday morning. Paceman Shahid Aslam took one wicket for 25 runs.

WAPDA resumed their first innings in the morning at 282 for three with Tariq Aziz at 115 and Hasan Adnan 96. They added 70 runs more before Hasan Adnan was caught by Adeel Shahnawaz off Farooq Hameed. Adnan batted for 330 minutes and negotiated with 366 deliveries. His third wicket partnership with Tariq Aziz of 288 lasted for 330 minutes. When Tariq Aziz was caught by Inamul Haq off Farooq Hameed at 194, the WAPDA declared the innings at 482 for six in 146.5 overs. Tariq Aziz faced 473 balls during marathon 518 stay at the crease. Off-spinner Farooq Hameed finished as most successful bowler with five for 127 in 48.5 overs.
