Dave, Dalpat show defiance
OP Sharma - 24 October 1999
Udaipur: Rajasthan were all out for 179 about thirty minutes before close of play on the opening day of their Central Zone Cooch Behar Trophy match against Uttar Pradesh here on Sunday. At stumps, UP were 22 for one.
Rajasthan captain Anup Dave won the toss and elected to bat. But they lost wickets at regular intervals and were badly placed at 93 for seven. Only opener Dalpat Singh (58) showed some defiance. Anup Dave and Kishen then added 69 runs for the eighth wicket. It took the second new ball taken at 171 for eight to bring the innings to a quick end. Dave's 50 came up off 98 balls with seven fours. Dalpat's 50 came up off 143 balls with nine fours.
