Haryana pile up big total

Faridabad: Jammu & Kashmir made a confident start in their first
innings on the second day of their North Zone Ranji Trophy match
against Haryana here on Monday.
Haryana declared their first innings after scoring 469 for eight on
the second day. Resuming at 261 for two, the overnight centurian
Rajesh Puri departed after adding two runs to his score and was out
for 109. Sanjay Dalal joined Amarjeet Kaypee and both stroked well
against the toothless J & K attack. They added 148 runs for the fourth
wicket. Seasoned compainer Kaypee (95) missed his 27th Ranji century
by five runs. He struck 14 boundries in his knock of 152 balls and
remained at crease for 234 minutes. He was adjuged lbw off Vijay
Sharma. Dalal scored an impressive 81 runs which came of 123 balls
with the help of seven hits to the fence and two sixes. Vijay Sharma
(4 for 63) and Sanjay Sharma (3 for 90) were the successful bowlers.
J & K started on a sound footing as their openers put on 68 runs. Amit
Pal (26) was the only batsmen to depart, out to Munish. Ranjeet Bali
(44) and Kanwaljeet Singh (14) were at the crease at the close of play
with the total 93 for 1 in 35 overs.
