Liebenberg hits entertaining hundred Trevor Chesterfield - 26 October 1999
Sri Lanka A ended the second day of their three-day match against a Combined XI on 120 for three, still 51 runs short of avoiding an innings defeat in Potchefstroom on Monday. Earlier, Gerhardus Liebenberg steered the Combined XI, comprising of players from North West, Free State and Griquas, to 270 for eight with an entertaining 126. Sri Lanka, playing their first game in a six-week tour of the country, made an awful start to their second innings. Batting after an entire session was lost to a lunchtime storm, the tourists crashed to 11 for three with North West quickie Jannie Dreyer claiming all three wickets in the space of eight balls. Sajith Fernandez (55 not out) and TM Dilsnan (40 not out) restored some order to the innings with an unbeaten stand of 109 for the fourth wicket.
