Meeting of the Election/Scrutiny Committee held in Lahore
Pakistan Cricket Board - 8 October 1999
The Election/Scrutiny Committee Constituted by PCB Ad-hoc Committee met on 7th October at Lahore under the Chairmanship of Brig. (Retd) Salahuddin. Committee members from all provinces Mr. Jimil Rana (Punjab), Mr. Shakil Shaikh (Islamabad), Mr. Afaq Hussain (Sindh), Mr. Maazullah Khan (NWFP) and Mr. Saud Gohar (Baluchistan) attended.
The committee decided to commence process of review and scrutiny of clubs based on the previous Scrutiny Committee report constituted by BCCP during 1994-95 under the Chairmanship of Major Gen. (Retd) Safdar Ali Khan. It was decided by the committee to communicate the findings of the report to all associations and PCB Ad-hoc Sub-Committee to start the process. It was also decided that those affiliated clubs which were declared. In-active will be given a chance to appeal. In addition, some new clubs which are playing active cricket since 1996 will also be allowed to apply for fresh scrutiny. 31st October 1999 has been fixed as the last date to receive such applications on PCB's prescribed Performa.
A schedule as stated below has been issued to all regions to complete the process of Scrutiny.

Sub-Committees are being formed for all regions to expedite the process of Clubs Scrutiny. These Committees will be nominated within few days. The Sub-Committee for Islamabad and Rawalpindi has been named with Mr. Shakil Shaikh as coordinator. Other members are Brig. Syed Absar Hussan, Brig. (Retd) S.A. Shami and Mr. Asghar Chaudhary.
Committee also decided to hold elections in phases starting form Rawalpindi/Islamabad this year and completing the process by March 2000.
Mr. Javed Zaman, Member PCB Ad-hoc Committee was briefed about these decisions to get final approval of the Chairman PCB on Priority.
