National Assembly briefing on cricket put off The Dawn - 8 September 1999
Islamabad, Sept 7: Briefing on new set-up of Pakistan Cricket Board ad hoc Committee under its chairman Mujeebur Rehman and performance of Pakistan Cricket team in the World Cup to the National Assembly Standing Committee on Sports was postponed due to engagement of cricket officials and players in the forthcoming Mini Toronto Series, it was learnt here. The NA Standing Committee on Sports headed by Sahibzada Salahuddin Saeed carried a four-point agenda but the three items related to cricket were dropped when a PCB ad hoc committee fax informed the NA committee about its engagements. The NA committee was to meet the Pakistan World Cup cricket team, besides a briefing on the new cricket board ad hoc set-up was to be given by Mujeebur Rehman. The chairman PCB ad hoc committee was in Peshawar on Tuesday in connection with cricket academy inauguration.
