Karachi, Sept 7: Swashbuckling opener Saeed Anwar was a doubtful starter for the Toronto tour despite being picked in a strong 15- man squad to be officially announced on Wednesday. The batsman, according to informed sources, is tending his wife who is said to be seriously ill.

Saeed has informed the selectors that he is not in a proper frame of mind. But he has not ruled out his participation as yet. He has asked for a couple of days to decide, informed sources said.

If Saeed pulls out from the tour, it would turn out to be a blessing in disguise for Shahid Afridi who has been dropped for his inconsistent performance in the World Cup.

The team to be announced on Wednesday is:

Moin Khan (captain), Saeed Anwar, Aamir Sohail, Wajahatullah Wasti, Inzamam-ul-Haq, Yousuf Youhana, Hasan Raza, Abdur Razzak, Azhar Mahmood, Saqlain Mushtaq, Mushtaq Ahmad, Arshad Khan, Waqar Younis, Shoaib Akhtar and Shabbir Ahmad.
