Interview with England's Mark Alleyne in Zimbabwe
CricInfo transcript - 27 April 2000

Andrew Hall: What do you think of the skills you’ve seen today?

Mark Alleyne: In the match situation out there, we’re putting up a good score in a little ten over game, and next to us in the nets, the guys are looking pretty good.

Andrew Hall: Do you fancy your chances against these players?

Mark Alleyne: I had a brief knock earlier and managed to remain not out – but it was very testing. They’re very keen out there, and there are some very good bowlers.

Andrew Hall: What about the batting?

Mark Alleyne: Myself and Craig had a little partnership earlier, then Craig stayed there and hit a couple of fours.

Andrew Hall: What are your chances against Nick Knight’s team?

Mark Alleyne: I think we’ve got a very good chance. We’ll get a competitive total, and the guys are going to field like tigers, and I think we’ll win.

Andrew Hall: You’ve been going around Zimbabwe these past few days, what is your feeling for with the enthusiasm for cricket?

Mark Alleyne: It is really great. If you see this level of enthusiasm anywhere in the world, you would be excited. And it would be great if they could get an opportunity to keep on playing, and keep that enthusiasm going.
